The information on this page is provided for LASGB members to make use of during their Autumn Term Governing Body meetings. The LASGB Representatives are asked to bring the following items to the attention of their fellow governors at that meeting |

| 1. OFSTED From September 1st 2009 another revised OFSTED is in place. A series of LASGB Mini Conferences will be held in the Spring Term to find out more about how the latest OFSTED inspections are working in Lancashire schools. Speakers will include Headteachers and governors from schools which have been inspected under the new regime. Details of dates and venues will be available early in the Autumn Term and will be posted on this website together with information on how to book places. |

| 2. The 16th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of the LASGB will be held at THE SWALLOW HOTEL SALMESBURY on SATURDAY JANUARY 23rd 2010 Governing Bodies which are members of LASGB are hereby notified of the date and venue of the Annual General Meeting of the Lancashire Association of School Governing Bodies. The AGM is open to all governors of member governing bodies. |

| 3. MAKING GOOD USE OF THE LASGB WEBSITE We plan to develop the LASGB website as a major communication link with member Governing Bodies and their schools. While continuing to post information to those Governors who request it in paper form, we aim to develop the website for all our activities. Using email will help to cut postage costs dramatically. Any governors who would like to receive their own mailings from the LASGB are welcome to send their email address to Bill Hodgson at billybandage@talktalk.net The LASGB has an email address - lasgb.contact@virgin.net The LASGB will NEVER expect governors to download or print large documents! |
