Wellbeing

The Governor Training and Development Team are keen to find out the views of Chairs of Governors regarding their wellbeing and this will help to shape future training provision.  A short survey has been developed and the link is given below:

https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/MT5BRLY

This survey covers the six key management standards of work design as specified by the Health and Safety Executive i.e. demands, control, support, relationships, role and change and two extra areas which look at personal well-being and the culture of the school.
In this survey:
·         All data is confidential.
·         No names are asked for.
·         Groups with below 8 members are not used for comparison studies.

It would be very helpful if Chairs could take the time to complete the survey  - the closing date is Friday 9th July 2021.

Chairs' Conference

Chairs of Governors will be aware that the rescheduled conference was planned to take place at The Exchange at County Hall, Preston on Saturday 6 March 2021.  It has been decided to postpone the Conference during the current Covid 19 pandemic and it will only be held when it is safe to meet face to face.

Bookings can be made by governors here.

Please ignore the boxes below - the dates currently are as above for the duration.

NB – It does not have to be the Chair of Governors who only goes to this training – the Chair can nominate another governor in their place.

Important points  - some in more normal times:

  • The sessions have been arranged by the District where your school is located, but if Chairs'/Vice Chairs' (as appropriate) are unable to participate on the specific date/time; an evening session has been arranged for all districts.  Alternatively, Chairs'/Vice Chairs' can register for a session in another district.
  • Registration for the briefing sessions is via the LPDS website above.  However, if governors have any difficulty registering online, please contact LPDS directly on 01257 516100.
  • Please forward any questions prior to the session to lpds@lancashire.gov.uk and there will be an opportunity at the end of the session for governor discussion. Please state the session that you are attending.  It may not be possible to answer all questions at the individual sessions, but the Authority will look to providing a composite response to queries when all sessions have been completed.
  • The Zoom hyperlink and password will be emailed to you to enable you to join the video conferencing session.

The sessions will be recorded and a link will be available to delegates following the end of the briefing period.
