Schools Forum

The LASGB has one delegate with ‘Observer’ status at all ‘Lancashire Schools Forum’ meetings.

There are also several (20+) elected governors representing Primary, Secondary, Academy, Special and Short Stay Schools. The majority of these are also members of the LASGB.

‘Fair Exchange’ is the name given to the regular ‘magazine’ update produced and sent out by the LCC for Schools’ Forum.

Schools’ National Funding Formula

As governors we are inundated with information about the schools’ national funding formula, and funding issues generally.

There are all kinds of statistics about how much is being spent and how the pie will be divided.

Changes to national insurance payments, the apprenticeship levy, pension and a number of other cost pressures are squeezing school budgets and eating into reserves.

A number of education organisations run campaigns to get people to write to their MP’s about these pressures.
